Target Audience


This activity is intended for healthcare professionals engaged in the care of patients with who have experienced trauma.

Educational Objectives


After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• List at least three health conditions associated with a history of adverse childhood experiences in adults and children.
• Describe the impact of trauma on a victim’s ability to engage in primary care services as well as potential triggers in primary care settings.
• Employ tools that pediatric providers can use to prevent adverse childhood experiences and promote family resilience.
• Integrate strategies to begin a trauma-informed approach with patients.
