Educators Module


Description
A moment of kindness in a busy classroom, or a sense of consistency in a chaotic day can help kids find their footing and work their way toward healing. In this module we will provide information to help educators understand the effects trauma can have on a child’s brain, body, and behavior.

Learning Objectives


Following this module, you will be able to do the following:

• Understand and be able to summarize your role as an educator when working with children who have experienced trauma
• Plan two strategies for working with children who have “flipped their lid”
• Give examples of at least three trauma-informed practices used in schools and other educational settings
• Discuss the importance of self-care in working with children who have experienced trauma

This course meets qualifications for 1 hour of continuing education credit for LMFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (provider #128510). The cost is $20. Please complete the module for information on how to apply.
